“The Barn is a lovely place – quiet and relaxing, it is a good place to experience Irish farmhouse life. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and they have a lovely dog that made our puppy welcome. The house had lots of board games which our son enjoyed playing. For us it was a great place to relax after long dog walks and visiting family & friends. “We stayed at a time of crisp and starry autumnal nights, when Lucinda’s place was a bright and warm haven at the end of a cold day. Deliciously deep mattresses, crisp clean and white bed cottons, a homely and useful welcome pack (eggs from the hens in the garden, butter, bread, home made jam, milk) all made us feel so welcome. Tea time round the large farmhouse kitchen table was the highlight of every day with ample space for old friends and relatives to visit us whilst we were there. Lucinda is the perfect hostess, full to bursting with local knowledge and recommendations. The barn, the perfect location at the hub of the old farm site yet entirely private and secluded for those who want to feel they got away from it all. Hillsborough Castle is a delight, and the village a real gem for visitors to County Down.” Lucy stayed November 2019
